As of August 1, 2009, ACDC approval is needed for specimens submitted
for H1N1 testing or viral culture. Clinicians must call 213-240-7941 to
receive approval. We will routinely approve testing of specimens from
cases admitted to intensive care units or deaths. Other specimens will
be decided on a case by case basis. For all cases, clinicians should
call ACDC and be prepared to fax in the "Screening Form for Respiratory
Viral Testing.
